Our UK based monoclonal antibody production team has over 15 years experience and expertise in the production and processing of bio-molecules and epitopes and the production of antibodies to numerous antigens. We adhere to a superior quality system based on the ISO 9001 2008 standard in order to assure our customers of the highest level of service. Each monoclonal antibody project is developed as a custom service to suit individual customer requirements. Immunisation: The key phase to a successful project is the immunisation and we work closely with the customer to develop the very best immunogen design. Serum samples can be sent to the client for verification of specific response in their target assay. All results will be discussed with the client and the project will not proceed to the Fusion stage unless suitable responses from the test sera have been obtained.
Fusion: The second phase is Fusion and an initial ELISA assay of up to 960 colonies. Typically, 20-30 'candidate' clones would be identified and these will be cryopreserved. A small volume of supernatant could be generated from these clones for dispatch to the client if required. Following assay one or more cell lines are chosen for Cloning.
Cloning: Cloning is carried out on a "per cell line" basis and whilst it is advisable to clone 5-10 lines, a single line can be cloned if required. For each cell line, the standard procedure is to perform a limiting dilution cloning ELISA assay followed by cryopreservation of the 3 best sub-clones and production of 5mg of pure monoclonal antibody.
